I admit to not knowing what namaste meant....I took a guess that it meant dumba$$.

However, when I looked it up in the urban dictionary, I learned it meant:

Originally a respectful greeting from Hindu customs, it is now a pejorative used by English speaking Asians in reference to White backpackers in Southern and South East Asia.

A typical Namaste wears cargo shorts or elephant pants, has several Thai tattoos, yellow fever, and practices Buddhism despite being raised Christian. They usually spend several weeks or a month in Thailand or other parts of Southeast Asia, then return to their country just to criticize all their millennial friends for lacking experience.

"Fon's new boyfriend is a complete Namaste, he's only here to take pictures of himself riding an elephant. 555"
"At least he's not a weeaboo"
And now I have to figure out what a weeaboo is......

If you don't know what one is, you probably are one.

A non japanese person who basically denounces their own culture and calls themselves japanese. They try to learn japanese through the anime they watch and usually end up pronouncing it wrong and looking like a complete idiot.

Weeaboo's basically disrespect the culture and make complete asses of themselves
Nope, not a weeaboo.

Maybe this should be going into the millennial thread.

Does anyone know if having a current employee number does anything for seniority?

You keep the number but fall to the bottom of the pilot list.

Default Light jets to FedEx possible?

Would really like some input from current FedEx pilots on this question...

All of my jet experience is in the CJ3 and CJ4. Once I meet the FedEx mins I am definitely going to apply. Seems like a phenomenal airline job from all that I have heard and read on these forums.

I was planning on continuing to build my PIC multi-turbine time in light jets (and possibly even a King Air 350). If I eventually meet and exceed the FedEx FO mins am I viable candidate having no heavy jet experience?

I’m sure that I would have a higher likelihood of being hired if I went to the regionals and built some “heavy” jet time. Just wondering if many pilots that haven’t gone the regional route are being hired.

Thanks very much for any helpful replies. Much appreciated.

I noticed the new requirements state, "Do you have at least 1500 hours total fixed-wing time as PIC or SIC in multi-engine turbo-prop or jet A/C or combination thereof." https://careers.fedex.com/prelogin/P0001

Although I'm unfamiliar with the CJ3 or 4, I'm assuming it is a corporate jet, so definitely get your 1500 hours and the more PIC the better! I'm not privy to HRs point selection system but pretty sure 1000+ PIC multi turbine gets more points.

Obviously, "heavy jet" and international is great but in this hiring climate, who knows??? If you plan on making a move, consider a "non-sched" over a regional because of the valuable experience and similar type ratings (B777,757, 767, MD11, etc).

Just my two cents and it worked for me but there are a lot of opinions out there!

I recently flew with a guy who hadn’t flown anything larger than an ATR. No jet time at all. So yes, you can make it with what you have. Apply, update often. Make sure you have something other than being a line pilot on your resume. They like seeing Check Airman, Instructor, management, etc.

I am a former corporate guy and currently purple. Obviously getting the turbine PIC is great. As stated already, the heavier the plane the better. I had a good amount of time in Falcons with MTOGW of over 40k lbs. I haven’t seen the new application, but the more boxes you can check the better. It appears you are still in the building time phase. I assume a Director or Chief Pilot position is not feasible. Try for something like safety officer. I did that and was able to check the box on the app. Feel free to PM and good luck.
