Yes. They did not intentional lie or try to lie however, when asked how long they had wanted to be at FedEx they stated "for as long as they can remember". Interviewers then asked "well why have you not been updating until earlier this year" and other was asked "well why didn't you put your app into the new system until March of this year". As you can see saying you have always wanted to be at FedEx better match your application submission time frame and updating timestamps.

For a new hire starting possibly in a January class, what would be a good aircraft option for someone living in base such as MEM? As far as more time at home and schedule flexibility?

Those are two distinct requests (time at home and flexibility) and potentially conflict with each other. But if you’re living in Memphis I think arguments could be made for both in pretty much every frame. I would say 777 and AB have least flexibility (trip length and lack of seniority progression respectively), but there’s benefits in both as well.
