What are you trying to have changed? Tell me what you are trying to accomplish by withholding your services?
You are making ridiculous assumptions. This has nothing to do with extra flying during negotiations. Seriously, do you really work here or are you playing on your dad’s computer?
I could care less how much someone is flying now, or why they are doing it. I have the opportunity myself, but there’s no way I’m going to do it. If you want to fly everyday now, it’s fine by me.
Again, tell me what you think what you think we’ll accomplish by flying our line. Or what you’re trying to accomplish. Are they going to increase our A fund if we stop flying extra? Seriously dude, you make some of the most ridiculous arguments I’ve heard....

Take a look at what I wrote. I think we are more on the same page on this issue than you realize. My point is that we are not in negotiations so big things are not going to get fixed. Smaller things that are directly linked to Covid flying can be fixed. Things that can be fixed is hazard pay for all not just those flying into China. Another thing that can be fixed is safety provisions we have asked for in regards to Covid flying. I have never stated to withhold your service. I am just stating fly the contract. Thats it, not a thing more or less. Now if you want to fly 28 days a month be my guest but then don't bark about the "hazards" and the "inequality". The company just dangles a couple carrots with AVA and draft and people commute into base on days off to hope and beg scheduling for extra flying. Im seeing it left and right. Guys are in the field begging to get extended in China. This is how they are making these massive amounts of credit. They are not being forced into it they are asking and begging for it.
Pilots did stand up in regards to Covid testing in China (at least for a short time). I haven’t been to China in some time and have no plans on going back until this situation gets resolved.
I don’t have any plans on working more even though the moneys there. But, I have only flown trips at AVA this month. I’ll keep this going until it stops. I have no idea why so many people are working for straight time when AVA is available, but it’s their choice.
Again, I don’t care if people are begging to stay out just because they want the money. Most of these trips are sitting in open time, so they’re available to anyone that wants them.
If someone commutes in to base in hopes of getting draft, I’d say they haven’t really figured this out. But if that’s their choice, so be it.
I have no problem with guys flying as much as they want. As someone described earlier, we’re on a sugar high in some areas. When the backlog gets cleared, we’ll have to deal with a very uncertain economy. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see 4.2.A.b or furloughs after the dust settles. Better to plan ahead if you see yourself on the bubble.

[QUOTE=golfandfly;3035975]I suggested early on that we opt out of the China MOU and tie the hazard pay based on State Dept Travel advisory levels (Level 3 and above). That wouldn’t help domestic flyers, but at least some pilots could get extra pay for flying into places like Italy and South Korea. That was early on, and you’re right, people flying into US hotspots deserve that too. I think we had leverage early on, but have lost it with the slower spread of Covid in China.

Attitudes like yours are why we won't and don't get improvements. They company needs us and our leadership and people like you are doing nothing to make any gains for the pilots. I'll say it again, good luck in 2021 when the contract comes up for negotiation. The company will stall for 3 yrs or more. And I'll be gone. But you will get what you get. 3% raise and no A plan fix, maybe a slight B plan increase. Enjoy.

I simply don’t care what other pilots are doing now. We aren’t in negotiations. So let’s withhold our services anyway, we’ll show ‘em. I’m not sure what you think we’ll accomplish, but what the hell, lets teach them a lesson.
Feel free to see if I was a fan about contract 2015. I’m on record here saying I was a no vote primarily due to a lack of an A fund increase. I don’t fly extra during negotiations, nor have I ever flown a disputed pairing. I also don’t care how much someone flies outside of negotiations. It’s really none of my business.
Good luck with retirement.

You just don’t get it, do you? You have been called half a dozen times in about three years and once in the last week. There are guys who get called multiple times a months for draft. Why do some get called so much more than others? If you don’t believe that CRS knows who to call when they need a trip filled, you are very naive.
Now, I know what I said and I stand by it. Just because you got called for a draft trip last week even though you haven’t ever taken a draft trip doesn’t mean that CRS doesn’t know who to call when they need to fill a trip. There are pilots here who do draft on a monthly basis, if not more. If you could prove to me that you get called every month for draft for the last three years and have never taken a draft trip, I might reconsider my position. That would mean that you would have to change what you said about how much you have been called. Here’s another example. During the last contract, they had LCA’s flying draft in the right seat. Do you think that they called every FO in that aircraft before they called the LCA?

I just don’t see how people with lives and families can just drop everything to fly draft all the time. I know people that do it but I’ve been here 3 years, flew my first AVA in November, had a couple volunteer before that, and accepted draft once almost 2 years ago, though I’ve been called several times. It seems like I’ve always got something going on when they call me. Of course, the days I’m sitting at home twiddling my thumbs thinking it would be a good time for them to call they never do.
