Just the messenger...don’t shoot if you don’t agree with how/why it works.
That helps. Thanks for explaining. Fortunate to recently receive a PE and I'm updating frequently. Fingers are crossed.

Update your app EVERY time you can add time to it. If that means every day, then do it every day. they have algorithms that check for update frequency. That is FACT..

Thank you! Just updated it today with new time and I will continue to do it in the future.

Again, thank you to everyone for all the information. Everything is helpful and greatly appreciated.

I understand the MD new hires are hand picked, but how does the rest of a new hire class pick their equipment? Does it go by age or last 4 of SSN?

Are the MD new hires being handpicked and starting the same day as the others now? Heard they did away with the one day prior seniority we were hired under.

If FedEx is the applicants #1 since before covid, is current on jet aircraft as a captain, exceeds all the hour requirements, has a PE, has a masters degree, has held union leadership positions, has been a check airman, and updates the app weekly while still not getting an interview offer, would applying for a China visa on their own be beneficial? Seems like that could attract some positive attention or is that just a waste of time?

Waste of time my man, but be patient. If you’ve got those credentials with a a PE, you’ll get an invite eventually. FedEx is #1 on about everybody’s list right now.

Constant leap-frogging on which destination airline is the best, but overall they have their merits and definitely issues no doubt. Amazing how the pendulum swings, how cyclic our industry is, unfathomable at times. The ups and downs of it all and yet we continue to chug along. Couldn’t recommend this profession to anyone a decade ago, but these past few years were looking up with that pilot shortage looming until recently. Understandably we hang in there - either too invested at this point or your projected entry in about 2-3 years perhaps will pay dividends based on timing as usual and nothing more. One thing is undeniable, if you have some sort of passion remaining it makes it a helluva a lot easier. The struggle is real, payoffs are tangible but in the end we do the best we can to have our needs met. Long live the relentless airline pilot; whether it came easy for you or the struggle was/is real you are all warriors in some form or fashion or you wouldn’t be here.
