If it was more cost efficient to wet lease and pay the penalty payments then why increase the fleet count consistently and increase FDX pilot jobs? Why not just outsource and pay the penalty payments? A bean counter obviously does the math and comes to the same conclusion.

Yes but remember that they were also parking MDs. There is a cost with that fleet as well. It’s not just a manning equation. But I agree they will do what is most cost efficient. They’ve been outsourcing for many years (not counting peak) and now they won’t. So sometimes it is better for management to outsource our jobs and sometimes it isn’t. The only thing that can change that is a change to manning or cost in scope. So theoretically more restrictive scope language would’ve prevented the outsourcing of our jobs to begin with.
