The point is that UAL and FDX and DAL have the most power in ALPA. The president that preceded the current president was DAL. The current president is FDX. Now United wants a turn at the wheel. Since FDX does not have a candidate, UAL made a deal with FDX to get TI elected. With the support of FDX, UAL would return the favor and throw support behind WR (FDX) for some kind of VP position. Clear as mud? All this is just what I’ve put together. I could be way off base.
Supposedly the deal is done and your FDX representatives will tell you that TI is the man for the job without taking your input seriously. That’s been my experience anyway.

I don’t think the point that is being made is that a DAL president would be worse than TI.

If you are going to send him your personal correspondence, you should get his company email. That way, at least, you know you are sending it to an actual pilot.
