MEC meeting in Las Vegas
#21
Yes, they did. Here's what the FDX MEC Policy Manual requires:
"The MEC Chair shall make available the location, the proposed Order of Business, including the advance agenda items, on the FDX MEC website and via email at least seven (7) calendar days prior to a scheduled regular MEC meeting."
The Policy Manual also says:
"The proposed Order of Business will be distributed to the MEC and committee chairmen fifteen (15) days prior to the first day of the meeting."
Again, from the Policy Manual:
"A time shall be scheduled on a day deemed appropriate during which any member may be allowed to address the MEC."
Thanks to Brian's input, we now have a time and day, but we're still missing a location. Maybe that was in one of the numerous articles you received?
The unforeseen circumstances have to do with the venue used in FLA.

Because of the late move to Vegas, they are (were?) having to split the BOD into two separate venues. Totally out of ALPA national or FDX ALPA's control. You act like they are trying to do something in secret, while in reality they are doing their best with a last minute audible.
Typically, ALPA prefers to use the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood FL because it's using union funds to support a union facility. You can call the Westin Diplomat right now and learn that they have plenty of rooms and facilities available. They suffered no damage from Ian, and they are not overwhelmed with Ian refugees. What they cannot assure you is that during your stay you won't be inconvenienced by hospitality union members exercising their legal rights. It was a CHOICE to ditch the Diplomat. The choice has consequences.
