CGN and LAX? Not sure how Double Deadheading everyone to Europe would be cheaper, but who knows. Lots of ASL planes on the ramp in CDG these days. Scope!
It's also noteworthy that this business update comes out a couple hours after the PUB, lobbing in distractions of base closures and excess bids, just as the NC finished updating the crew force on where things stand in negotiations. They also compare our current numbers to last year, where in my opinion 2019 would be a better comparison. We are ahead of where we were in 2019.
The sky isn't falling...The company is still making BILLIONS, and we just BEAT market estimates for Q2.

They can’t give away the EUR flying. We’ve “memorialized it”!
Remember!!!
That’s what our Union leadership assured us back in 2007, when many questioned the lack of scope protection in the original FDA LOAs.
2023 will be an interesting & informative year.
Everyone please fly safely!

Did you mean to say they pay a penalty payment for? At my previous airline 50% or more of our domestic flying was on regional airlines. Code share demolished our international structure to and from US soil. We had no penalty payments and our scope allowed it. I am not saying our scope bullet proof but it sure is better than what the pax have by a long shot.

The FDA language states the PILOTS will be governed by the CBA and not local or national law in that country. The flying itself is another story. From m

From FDA LOA. It governs the pilots under title II of the RLA. Not the flying. RLA law has no jurisdiction on other countries flying from my understanding. International case law on this also. See UA flight attendant dispute via google.
“This Letter of Agreement (“LOA”) is made and entered into in accordance with the provisions of Title II of the Railway Labor Act, as amended, by and between FEDERAL EXPRESS CORPORATION (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) and the pilots in the service of FEDERAL EXPRESS CORPORATION, as represented by the AIR LINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION, INTERNATIONAL (hereinafter referred to as the “Association”).
WHEREAS, the Company and the Association are parties to a collective bargaining agreement setting forth the rates of pay, rules, and working conditions for the Company’s pilots (hereinafter referred to as the “basic Agreement”), effective on November 2, 2015, and
WHEREAS, the Company and the Association agree that the following terms and conditions shall govern Foreign Duty Assignments (hereinafter referred to as “FDAs”) in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa Region (hereinafter referred to as “EMEA”) and Hong Kong”
