I see a lot of mention about pay, retirement, and no concessions but what about QOL and work rules? Does anyone know if QOL is being addressed in the negotiations? The “Buyer’s Remorse” post has me thinking and comparing.

This exact question was asked at the MEM hub turn meeting last week. There were no QOL concessions. But those that weren't there will probably stick to their rumors from their "sources."

The MEC doesn’t define concession the way most pilots will. The MEC calls concessions “choices”. There are concessions in the agreement. Period.

If the TA’d areas in question are so great and without any concession, why doesn’t the MEC just release the language?

Cause we have to pass it to find out what’s in it….

If that's the way you want to look at it... Everyone hates Sub... If the OTP goes from 125% to 400% would a "Choice", "Concession"... Whatever you want to call it be acceptable to you? If not 400%, then 1000%? 6000%?

Maybe we should see what the trading looks like before we place judgement. In the meantime I'll just enjoy time with my family and do the things that my union asks of me.

That’s not how it is going to work. Sorry.

But you yourself said these were "Choices" according to the union. Let's see what was traded. If it stinks we can always vote no...

So if it’s so great, why the secrecy? No requirement. It’s an MEC choice.

Having been through negotiations before, that's pretty standard... Imagine if everytime we got something nice out of negotiations they said, "WOW... We wanted to tell all of you that we just got an industry leading retirement plan!" How do you think the pilots would act in that scenario? Probably not in a manner that benefits our stated goals.
