If you're receiving New Hire Junior Activation Pay and you bid for a WB seat but are not awarded anything, do you keep the additional pay? If the answer is yes, I'm assuming you would have to include every other possible seat at 100% (to include CA seats) to retain NHJAP?

I thought you couldn’t be displaced out of an FDA?

You definitely can't be excessed into an FDA. Let's say they close LAX. And a middle of the pack FO decides he wants to go to CGN, and he's senior to the bottom FO there. He's not being excessed into it, but would that not count as a stand in bid award, and then push the bottom CGN guy out? I'm not seeing anywhere where it says you can't be displaced out? Good question though.

Here's the Section 24 video the MEC put out back in 2015 for the then new contract. Helps explain some of the realignment bid process, but still confusing.

Crazy they don’t ever mention that this is industry worst language.

The former bid to relieve process always prevented them from taking a few off the bottom in HKG so they could decrease the passover pay numbers. Evertime they excessed a few seats in HKG the top guys would bid to relieve to score the house hunting and other benefits in the package.

The process to which you’re describing it now called a Stand In Bid. If a category is over staffed, seniority pilots can elect to bid out to another location before junior people.

I heard something last night that seemingly made the most sense about this next bid, they’ll see the chaos of movement, then cancel it during their week to “evaluate” and try again.

Really doesn't matter since CGN is closing.

Are you in a position to know this?

Or is this from the crew bus driver?

I agree, it will be chaos.

Here's a thought.

A realignment bid without knowing the effects of a CBA is shooting in the dark to some extent. I'll bet Flight Ops has been told not to worry about it as there's no intent to sign a contract.
