Default MD-11 gone in 5 years

Actually surprised it will be take 5 years. So thats good. Time for the A350F to arrive.

Ah yes, let us welcome the arrival of the same aircraft that Cathay will be using to reduce down to single pilot cruise. What could go wrong?

Minor point, but I think RS said gone by the end of FY28, which would be May 2027, so 4 years. Might have misheard though.

That would be the beginning of FY2028.

There may be a songle pilot but not in US airspace, or any other airspace.

No one can predict the future. We’re talking about 2028 and beyond, not tomorrow. Single pilot ops in ETOPS airspace by 2030 doesn’t seem that far fetched, in fact I’d be willing to bet on it.

I knew I’d catch hell for that one. My point is single pilot ops in oceanic airspace is coming. And to just say **** like “not in my lifetime” only shows ignorance to what’s going on behind the scenes. If you think the A350 is a good addition then more power to you.
