Default Moral authority to poll

Can someone please explain to me why the current MEC and NC are polling to get ready for TA 2.0?

I can not believe they think they are going to be the ones doing the work for TA 2.0.

Surely they know recalls are coming and several reps, the MEC officers and NC are going to be replaced, so why are they polling? Who wrote the questions? The same people who wrote the six or so polls that got it so wrong?

What am I missing?

Until they are replaced the wheels still need to turn.

First mover advantage. It wold be interesting to know how much side/back channel communication has already occurred between ALPA Leadership and Fedex Mgmt. They may BOTH have a vested interest in keeping Round 2 between the current negotiation teams. Unfortunately, we may be living in "interesting times".

Exactly DLax.

Pat were aiming for 50%+1

It unfortunately could be that this "wait to hear back from us in a few weeks" from the MEC really means "your MEC will regroup and discuss with mgt. to see if we can still come up with TA1.5Lite before we are forced out".

mEC and NC want to work the surveys to a preloaded answer, I.e, “how long have you been beating your wife” type questions where it already starts with the assumed before proof. “How much would you like your retirement increased, a, b or c”. Not even asking if it is the number one priority.

once the votes happen, dust settles, the survey will be given a Do Over…. The Pat’s talk regularly I am sure.

Perhaps a better use of their polling would be to poll the membership whether or not the MEC/NC should step down....

don’t bother. Those with the dirt came forward. There is an active investigation into this house of cards, I mean lies.

Very good question, but a better one is: Why is there even a need to poll?

Here is what was promised, inferred, alluded to during the TA vote. Remember these statements? "no one left behind", "if even one pilot is excluded", "they owe us this", "we can do much better"

1. IRS max limit for the A plan
2. 100% back pay
3. Industry leading pay rates: higher than DAL's for all pilots, all seats
4. Bulletproof scope clause
5. 22% CoC B plan
6. all pilots retirement from amendable date
7. R 24 back to normal
8. No change to VAC
9. No change to training lines

Did we miss anything. we certainly want to be perfectly clear on where you are going; no walking back the lofty goals and expectations of those that are waiting for you to actually get all of these things in the next TA, plus you're achieving this in under a year? 9 months? 6 months? Which one was it?
