If you currently work for FedEx then don’t waste money on prep for any of the majors… other than checking your pulse and fogging a mirror before the interview. Prep by thinking about some true story “tell me about a time that you XXX, and what you learned from XXX”, buy a nice dark suit, and don’t make up crap in the interview. Buy me a beer for payment after you get the hired letter..

I know two Delta pilots who elected to return via spitfire before this became a published process… often times the prep companies behind the scenes work to get someone hired who has a blemished past, or burnt bridges by leaving the job the first time, is worth the money. In this day of fog a mirror and get an interview, it’s often those who don’t prep, or don’t prep correctly for the company they’re interviewing at that don’t get hired…

Default Work for UPS too?

This offer good for UPS pilots too? Things aren’t the best here either.

If I weren't in the left seat here and had 5-7 years or less on property I would be jumping on this opportunity.

It crosses my mind to jump but because of age, trickiness of my commute, giving up seniority again... just too many factors keeping me here for the full ride to age 58 (with my plan to walk away 11 years from now).

This whole thing is a shame knowing we will be losing some of our highly-qualified, fully trained crews who wanted to make purple their career destination. I am grateful for getting to fly with the outstanding level of newhires I have flown with over the last 4 years. That might be changing here going forward.

Factors that, unbelievably to me, have me consider leaving what has been my Dream Job: Our company's lack of direction since the Founder stepped down, the lack of long-term vision from current Corp. leadership other than outsourcing us out; and the lack of honesty, transparency and accountability from our union since the 2015 debacle and through TA2023. The whole thing really stinks worse in this environment of true industry-advancing CBA's being signed by our peers.

I only wish those of you choosing to leave the best in your careers. We will only know the day we retire how lucky/unlucky we got with our crystal ball.

I will bite! As part of the 700, why should I leave?

I can see an opportunity of living in base to draw someone out but this psuedo doom and gloom will pass and is so overplayed. I see leaving as unnecessary.

You told me I would be furloughed if I did not pass the TA. There are still no furloughs. You told me the company wants to furlough but yet I hear no discussion on Leave of Absences or early retirements. We are 700 overmanned but alas we found it in our negotiating heart of hearts to raise new hire pay more than 50+%. I want to believe the leadership but their actions say otherwise. Where is the leadership on any of these issues!

If a furlough comes, let it come. I along with my junior peers will deal with it the same as any other adversity we overcame on our way to FedEx. Why be fearful when you can be prepared. We (junior we) have heard all the ballads about furloughs and how we can only afford a concession laden contract, 300 in the cold, Union busting pension scheme and CPI-U.

There are many who will stay here to make this place better and that is a great thing.

So if those senior expecting some sort of junior exodus, it ain’t happening. Many are here for the long run, so make room for us as we head down the historical purple road to TA2.0.

I believe the only ones predicting an exodus are those posting about it on the Mass Exodus thread. If it is truly as bad here as some say, why would you stay. If you say you are only staying, willing to be stagnant for a couple of years working under low BLG's and a contract that has been amendable for 2 years because you want to make things better, you are playing the martyr.

Concession lade contract? Come on man!! Yes, there were some concessions, but claiming it was a concession laden contract is disingenuous at best.

If we aren't overmanned, then why are so many lines being bought up?

We sunset the pension, left 300 in the cold and still found a way to put concessions into this TA. So have it your way, it is your opinion but for this environment it was a concession laden contract.

It seems you are suggesting that one keeps hopping from green grass to green grass. This is poor advice. I am junior and know this. Yes, one should be prepared for furlough but don’t attempt to minimize folks choices to stay here with your doom and gloom forecast.

But, before furlough let’s discuss leave of absences, early retirements and other measures.

Being overmanned is not an eternal state, it will subside. You have stated you have been here for 15+ years then you should know it (overmanned) will pass like it has for countless cycles in this industry. There are no “martyrs”, just folks making best choices for their families.

Until then save some room on your survey for not a single pilot left behind since amenable date for retirement improvement. They (senior) did not sell our (junior) A plan away. They (senior) did not fail to improve the pension in 20+ years. Our company did.

FYI, there’s already a leave of absence available in the current CBA. If someone wants one there’s nothing stopping them. Same with early retirement. TA1 also provided incentive to go in the form of a reset on the notification bonus, but obviously that’s not an option now.
How will these “discussions” occur that you suggest? Who represents us? The NC that produced TA1? The portion of the MEC under recall? When? You mean when we finally get back in front of the NMB?

It was full of concessions and little if any quality of life improvements. If you can’t see that it was jammed full of concessions, then yo have your head up your arse.
