That's rough, but perhaps being at home a bit more evens it all out. Do they get Holiday Inn quality breakfast included? It's only a $1, but company's will chase that too.

My vote is for a new NC. The other guys tried and failed. They should have quit.

Agree. when you crash and burn a plane, the governing body would have to be insane to let you fly another.

his mea culpa was BS at its finest. if he was fatigued, he should have called out, but no, instead, he tried scaring the group with talk of furloughs, he sided with the opposition, he outright lied, and now we’re going to hand him the keys to TA 1.1?

the new union leadership is warped if they think it’ll fly under his command. they gotta clean house or it won’t work. period.

Agree with everything you said, but let's be clear: other than flipper (block 7) ALL of the support for PM is coming from old reps. All new reps and TC support the removal of PM. The old union leadership is doing everything they can to sabotage the will of the pilot group because they didn't get their way.

Exactly right. The super senior are still irritated they didn't get their ask and give up our pay rates and QoL for it.

p,

Yep, No one but you should get any benefit from the new TA. funny how everyone's vote counts but some like you don't think so. I guess any pilot with an interest that benefits them but not you is not worthy of consideration. Its a majority vote and thats what will get. I wonder who's interest you'll take into consideration after your career is almost over and you have a last TA to vote on, my guess, not the junior guys.

So what’s the timeline here?
  • CN retires at the end of October.
  • LEC 26 refuses to have a council meeting to avoid a recall of 3, 6, and 11. Meanwhile LEC 22 timely recalled its members and already had them trained by the time a vote for the new MEC chair came around.
  • LEC 26 finally goes through the recall process. However, 3, 6, and 11 were available to advocate for BW to take over as chair at the beginning of November. Prior to recall on November 14. Entirely conceivable that CN saw the writing on the wall but wanted to get like minded BW seated prior to the new LEC 26 in place. This effectively allowed the old LEC 26 agenda to be carried out by the new chair. All while disenfranchising the constituents of LEC 26 until mid January when the interims or permanent reps are trained. A full two months after LEC 22 was replaced and three months after the interims were trained.
With this in mind, I honestly don’t see how BW stays in place. He’s willfully moving forward without LEC 26 and operating on the old LEC 26 mindset.

Full disclosure, I’m not sure how much sway the old LEC 26 had on moving BW through. But if they put him over the edge, that’s an issue.

Its difficult for me to convey how little I care about what the senior folks have "earned." They had a great career here. Made millions. They DO NOT get to screw over the junior guys though on the way out. The majority agrees with me. Either EVERYONE is included or no one is. This company drives me nuts with the deference they give the senior folks. That's exactly why our union is so weak. The "old guard" is in bed with the company so they can continue to get theirs while everyone else can deal with the degraded QoL and pay. Not anymore. Things are changing. We've had enough.

Yeah the "silent majority" is neither silent or the majority. The latter is the most important fact however.
