what the MEC isn’t telling us

The word majority gets thrown around a lot. JF is a majority of nothing. Just over 50% of the MSL is even on JF, factoring in all the retirees. And yet its the same 30-50 who do all the posting/commenting. Social media drove the TA defeat (not saying it didn't deserve to be defeated), but you can be sure the quiet, respectful and professional middle is getting fed up with the antics on both sides. Get off your keyboards and talk to the pilots you fly with, show some grace to those who have different opinions. Just bc you're a loudmouth doesn't mean you speak for anyone but yourself!

Fixed most of it for you. You're entitiled to your opinion but it's clear you don't even understand how the MEC works. First of all, BW isn't called the "MEC". He's the MEC chair. The MEC is the body of 14 elected reps. They make the decisions. BW works for the MEC, not the other way around. He chairs the meetings, but he doesn't "lead the block reps". They are in charge.
This whole thing is an abolute abortion. I thought UAL's post-TA rejection antics were bad, but this is downright embarrassing.

it’s hard to keep up. Maybe if we just clean house several more times we will be perfectly set up for an absolute banger of a CBA in 15 years

Yea they canceled the meetings so the NMB can consider the request from alpa for a proffer of arbitration. They haven’t said we are on ice. Doubtful they would make a decision that quick. But if you have more info please share.

you really got me there, slick, not so much in the deconstruction of the expediency in which i used MEC without specifying CHAIR, but by using this omission to discredit my opinion and at the same time highlighting how extremely intelligent you are. well done. from now on, whenever I feel the need to express an opinion, I’ll run it by you first.
The latest example is you suggesting that BW should ignore the structure established by our current policy manual and pretty much just do what you think is appropriate. Put him on speed dial and make sure you set him straight. I'm sure he's waiting for your call. The MEC chair isn't supposed to lead the MEC reps by policy, implication or expectation. He serves at their pleasure because we elected them and they in turn elected him. He doesn't have the power to direct our reps to do anything, regardless of how adamantly you state that here.

Actually, I wasn't interested in discrediting your opinion. There's no point in trying that. I was trying to inject some accuracy into your post in the slight chance that someone else reading it might understand that everything you offer here isn't rooted in fact. It's opinion. Uninformed and extreme opinion like much of what we find on this circus forum.

We (FDX Pilots) are screwed with the current cabal of Reps. Watson is particularly disappointing( I kinda expected this from cutler). Watson is obviously not the same person he professes to be in the cockpit.

It's pretty clear who's ready to strike and who wants to just work something out.
I wonder what the negotiating committee chair meant by asking to remove the handcuffs?
at least hes beong consistent.
