Its probably happened but I'm betting its really really rare. I once had an RFO ask for a landing, which the FO graciously gave him. Then he had the nerve to call schedules and ask for the pay associated with a crew change. Shortly after that, they shut that type of manipulation down. I was not impressed with that RFO after I found out what he had done. |

Why wouldn’t they both want the 1.5 hour pay for seat swap? Sounds like a good deal for both the FO and RFO. And I know they are not paying that when it is an elected swap But why not try for it? Maybe it comes out of our profit sharing….oh wait.

I cant find anywhere that says the FO must make landings. Its up to the captain descretion. Nice thing about airport stby is you get caught up on current events around the popcorn machine. |

The seat swap was not initiated by schedules. If they allowed seat swaps to be initiated by the RFO's and FO's, they would happen every leg.

It didn't pass the smell test with me, I told them so, but he was going to try anyway. I don't know how it turned out. My point is, if you bid RFO, don't expect to get any landings. RFO lines usually don't go junior. If you are junior and need landings, put in for first fly, call the scheduler and tell them you need landings, or suck it up and go to the sim. I have very little sympathy for anyone hired directly into the right seat of the 777 complaining about a lack of landings. |

Why would any pilot discriminate against another fellow pilot because he was hired directly into the right seat of a 777. Doesn't FedEx do the last 4 of your SS# . So if some young pilot was lucky enough to have a high SS# should he have not selected a 777. What a clown show.
