UPS MD guy here... Has your company given any updates/iinfo on grounding, inspection protocol, grounding timeline? I have seen some info that your company has cancelled flights through December? Also the pre-planned displacements has been reported.
.
Our company is notorious for zero information and the IPA is (understandably) severely limited as a party to the investigation in relaying information.

So we need some intel. If the problem was inspectable and fixable quickly most operators would have their engines and pylons already being taken off and ready to be renovated, awaiting NTSB/FAA/Boeing procedure. Are your MD-11s sitting on the ramp/in the hanger with nothing done or are they dropping engines off the wings. The one caveat to this line of reasoning would be if this occurrence was a one off maintenance failure such as AA 191. If your operator was sure it was going to be a one off they might delay dropping engines also.

This is a gift to RS, JD and all the DRIVE savings junkies. Displacement bid coming if so, and there goes our leverage, what little we had.

1. Quick TA
2. Announce New jets
3. Announce the end of the MD
4. Massive system bid
5. End of the Trump tariffs setting off a massive uptick in flying
6. Hiring at the end of 2026 following the retraining of the MD guys.
Thats 100% speculation though.
