Why are we making all these changes so that we can be more like bankrupt airlines?
Maybe Fedex was the best system to begin with..... |

Know more than a few who interviewed without one but NONE hired. |
Anecdotal but most of the new hires I have been flying with were regional or civilian background, and fairly young. I think the Delta model must favor that somehow (the age part).

My newhire class at DAL was pretty diverse. The youngest was 26, and the oldest (me) was 60......seemed the ages were pretty well spread in-between. My swag would put my group of 47 : 50% mil, 45 % civ/regional, 5% corporate. The overwhelming majority of the Captains I flew with were academy graduates. That use to be DAL's favorite hiring pool, but more diverse lately. FedEx does NOT need to use the DAL model for hiring. The two jobs are widely disparate....other than pushing throttles. ;) All this is just my lame opinion....ymmv. Regards, BG |

Probably 5% max. (Pure speculation.)

Hey guys,I am looking for advice...I have no sponsors and don't know anyone at FedEx but would love to work there. I have a 3hr sit in MEM on Tuesday, would it be beneficial to rent a car and head over to ???somewhere and try to say hello to as many employees as I can, or would I be wasting my time. Thank you.

A civilian guy can easily graduate college and have 1,000+ of PIC Turbine at a 121 Carrier by mid to late 20s. (Lots of assumptions, the biggest being able to Upgrade fast.) |
