No, there are 8 slots. Women and minorities are pilots too. From the tone of your post you'll probably be happy to know that current class is 8 white males...

I think the last class was 6 white males as well.

As previously stated GREAT post Albie !!!

After FedEx, Albie helped me with the DAL interview, so that may negate the 15% guys at FedEx.....scoring Ms Miss finalist notwithstanding ! ;)

Can retired FedEx pilots act as a sponsor and if so, do they carry the same weight?

Any input?

wouldn't count on it unless they are incredibly well connected.

I am not connected, but it is my impression that the Active FedEx Pilot Sponsor doesn't carry the same weight as it once did.

I have filled out 2 Sponsor/Recommendations in the last 2 years and unfortunately neither of them have received an invite. Hope it isn't me.

It's not just you.

This is not the company we used to work for. Think Delta in the nineties.

I know the advertised min's are 1000 turbine pic but I was told you really need jet time. I don't think turbo-prop time gets you in the door any more?
I know a guy who only had light(er) twin turboprop PIC time (B1900) and got hired. He was also a chief pilot at a 135 outfit in AK so that was probably what really set him apart.
