What do you think got you?

Not really sure since they don't tell you. All 3 tests were a kick in the pants. I studied my butt off for the job knowledge test. Supposedly the Cog test can serve as a "buffer" if you don't do well on the job knowledge. I didn't prepare for the Cog at all and maybe that's where I went wrong, but I really don't know.

4...yep 4 military guys turned down in one group this week. Plenty of sharp regional guys and some 121 guys getting the nod now.

High time issues? We have some former world MD-11 captains with tons of hours in class and fresh on the line. I was on a trip with my FO--a former Ryan Air check airman with gobs of hours--when he was awarded 757 captain on this last bid.

Apply. Network. Do some voodoo with some chicken parts. But don't give up...and don't let anyone tell you that you cannot get hired here.

You might want to bring your own HEPA mask to work, however. (Sigh).

Albie - I'm a mil guy with an interview next week. What can I do to avoid the pitfalls that the mil guys this week ran into?

Just had my topoff with one of your counselors by the way - made me feel a little bit more comfortable.

Wear a smaller watch than you would normally. And, don't keep shooting it when you are talking.

My advice is simple--telegraph (and this is for DAL, UAL, and AA) as well that you want to be an airline pilot, and not a guy securing a line number before disappearing 2-5 years.

I won't get into a long discussion of USERRA, legalities, morality, etc. I am just telling you what I see, and that is airlines want full time employees. Let them know you want to be full time.
