Is there any info on numbers of letters of rec that help? I have a sponsor and a few letters, but wondering if anything is a magic number?

Nope. No magic number. Just magic.

Hey Everyone,

Does anyone have any knowledge of the caveats or if there is a way around the 5 year residency requirement? I'm currently flying the 767 for Atlas and have dreamed of FedEx ever since I was a kid. However, I have only lived in the U.S. for the last 2 years. Am I screwed for the next 3 years or is there a way around the USPS requirements?

Cheers

Hey guys. I've been told that FedEx does not like high time pilots. Is that really true or just sour grapes from someone not getting a call? FedEx has always been my "dream job" but having not gotten a call and being a high time guy, one starts to wonder. My quals: 11k TT, 8500 TPIC, 757 sim instructor and cka, 4 year, no failures. Patiently waiting, well sort of. Lol

FedEx SEEMS to have a preferred sweet spot for hours, and there is anecdotal evidence that the screening formula penalizes too many hours. I'm not positive about that, as I was never involved in hiring. I HAVE noticed a very strong "Not-Invented-Here" syndrome. They DO NOT want to hear "That's not the way we did it at...." nor "Hey, guys, there's a better way to do this." Guys with a lot of experience may be more likely to know a better way. And have the temerity to say so.
