The way it was explained to me at the job fair is 1. The computer screens the apps per it's algorithm/points system. 2. A captain review board eyeballs the apps selected to make sure there are no anomalies before they make an interview offer.

Recent 7/17 update with some info ...

Pilot Hiring: In early May, some of you participated in the FedEx Pilot Career Expo designed to showcase our great airline and our amazing crew force. The event was a resounding success and the VP of Flight Operations, plans to run this event again next year. By the way, a special thanks to the Airbus Fleet Captain for running this vital program. Why did we do this? With the impending pilot shortage looming, we’ll soon see a ”buyers’ market” in the pilot hiring world. If the numbers prove to be correct, there may not be enough qualified pilots to cover the entire airline industry, so promotion and a plan to train within may be a necessity for some airlines. For now, I need your help in promoting the virtues of working at FedEx! We can do this by volunteering to help in youth programs, visit schools and other STEM-related organizations. If you need pointers or material to present, meet with me – I’d love to help!

Personal Endorsement Program: Last month our Fleet Captains pushed the first list of PE’s to the Pass Board. After successful completion of the Pass Board, we are seeing our first group of interview invites from our PE group. Thanks for taking part in this program!

What do you guys think the chances are of getting hired with less than 1000 TPIC? Prior enlisted military. Masters degree. Recent regional captain upgrade.
Thanks

At the informational session in May the Chief Pilot said they aren't currently considering candidates without 1000 PIC. Dont let that stop you from applying though. He also said they heavily consider how long you've had your application on file and how often you update it when screening applicants.

If you get TBNT on an interview is it automatically 12 months that your app can be reconsidered? Is it basically an automatic callback in 12 months? Is there any chance to be reconsidered any earlier? Maybe with a internal rec? Anyone know what the pass rate 2nd time around?

Thanks.

So you're saying there's a chance?

Going on 15 months of continuous updating after TBNT and not a peep.

Not to be harsh, but:

If they didn't want you before, what would make you think that after a year, they'd automatically want to reconsider you again? After all, if you got the original interview, it means that your flying credentials were competitive, so something else turned them away from selecting you.

Again, why would it be an "automatic callback?" You need to keep updating your resume, and hope for the best.

Just keep updating your resume and they'll call you, when and if they decide to re-interview you. I'm sure you realize that a company interview costs the company both money and time. If you were lucky enough to get that first interview at FedEx, it meant that they wanted to hire you. If you got turned down, it was (usually) because of something you did or said at the interview process. An internal recommendation, after being turned down, probably wouldn't carry enough weight to get you in a second time, by itself. Keep updating.

If they do grant you a second interview, they (again) want to hire you, and have deemed you competitive enough to spend more money on you, in the interview process. So I guess the key would be to try to figure out where you originally screwed up, the first time, and don't do it again.

Best of luck.
