Also while in CGN, do you get the $7 per/hr International Override pay?
Yes and yes. You keep any left over and $7IO for actual flying...not for R. Also get Intl per diem for TAFB.

Aren't we suppose to hire 200 this year? Yet no news about class dates, no news about interviews, no news about being able to start new applications, really no news at all.

we are supposedly undermanned and it seems there's no sense of urgency to hire.

Delaying hiring with hopes that we lay down and accept their best in industry retirement plan and screw the new hires! If the hire now they would be under current contract and retirement.

Or ... delaying hiring in hopes that we'll swallow PBS in exchange for a less-than-industry contract (and maybe need 500 fewer pilots)?

Any updates? Seems quiet on here.

Is FDX still planning to hire 200 this year?

Any interviews/class dates for off the street folks?

200 pilots in 2015; doubtful.

FedEx has submitted, in writing, that they only intend to hire for FDA's during the next 6 months (through June), with the exception of their internals (there are 14). Currently, there are 18 FDA openings (HKG) that FedEx intends to fill during the next few months. In order to achieve this, FedEx must first interview and hire more candidates into the pool. As it stands, none of the current pilots in the pool accepted HKG; they all bypassed.

Note: When including the internals, there are 21 pilots (error +/-2) in the pool.

It is 'possible' FedEx will ALSO hire into their CGN FDA, but this is pure speculation. No official offers have been made for CGN, and even if vacancies are created I would not expect to see many (perhaps 10 at best).

I do not expect FedEx will hire 200 pilots in 2015 unless their current plan changes dramatically. They have explicitly stated only internals will be provided domestic base opportunities through June. If this remains true, below would be the best case scenario:

- All 14 internals start class on or before June.

- 18 additional pilots interview, are hired, and accept HKG on or before June

In summery, they only intend to hire (at best) 32 pilots between now and the end of June, and therefore they would need to hire an additional 168 pilots during the July-December timeframe to achieve 200 in 2015. That's 28 pilots a month and isn't likely, namely for 2 reasons:

1) FedEx has a max training capacity of 16 crews per month
2) FedEx isn't keen on large training during November-Decmeber

Anything is possible. FedEx 'can' run FO/FO training and they 'can' hire every month. They may even hire a few into CGN. Be that as it may, when you look at what has been officially announced and what has historically occurred, it isn't likely.

...but this is aviation. Everything is always in flux.

PS - What revision are we on?

While I agree with your assessment, do not think for a minute that the 16 month capacity is a limitation.

If FedEx needs to Hire (your 168#'s) before next Peak, they will.
They can easily train off site if need be,as they have done multiple times in the past 23 years during hiring booms. many of us trained offsite in ATL, PIT, MIA, DFW and HEL & ZRH.

Again, I agree with your assessment. But should the need arise, FDX can train a lot of folks.

That said, Big Hiring rumors are always the
perfect distraction during Negotiations. Don't believe it until it is on the ramp painted Purple/orange.

Training locations for the 757 are MEM (FDX sims), DFW (AA IS&S sim), and apparently they are going to start sims in the Iceland Air sim in Reykjavik for the Europe crews. Problem is there are very few IS&S sims out there.
