Is there any notable correlation of interview invite to availability? All things being equal and assuming my boxes are checked, how many months prior to availability am I even on the FedEx radar as someone to consider?

I know there are guys that are available now and haven’t received an invite yet. For those that have, how far out did you get the call?

Have a quick Osprey question. A family member marine aviator is looking to select Ospreys but wants to be at FedEx in the long run. Any info on how airline look at Osprey time?

Does not count for any airline that I am aware of. I think most pilots with Osprey time are doing the rotor transition program offered at the regionals. Search the military sub forum there has been discussion there.

>12.5K pounds. Is that empty fuel weight? Max takeoff weight? What exactly is that stipulation referring to?

Not really a big mystery: it actually spells it out on the FedEx application website:
https://careers.fedex.com/pilot-minimum-qualifications

1500 hours total fixed-wing time as pilot-in-command (PIC) or second-in-command (SIC) in a multi-engine turbo-prop aircraft, jet aircraft or combination thereof with GTOW 12,500 or greater. A minimum of 1000 hours total fixed-wing PIC time in a multi-engine turbo prop aircraft, jet aircraft or combination thereof in aircraft with GTOW 12,500 or greater is preferred

Almost all with the exception of Southwest do. The FAA will be changing how they count the time this summer...they’re supposed to anyway.

Wondering if anyone has done Emerald Coast for interview prep and if they can speak to the webinar vs in-person experience. I've been registered for almost two years and based on military events, am now getting serious about the interview process.

I've wanted to do the in-person seminar with Emerald Coast for a number of months but their in-person events seem a lot more sparse than when I first signed up with them a couple years ago. I've heard from a few folks that have told me to definitely do the in-person primary and do the webinar as a back-up. Thoughts from the crowd; is there a substantive difference or should I just bite the bullet and do the webinar?
