Dear MEC & LEC - Please vote this TA DOWN

I believe this 4 years of negotiations and the resulting TA are a microcosm of what has happened in our country the last 20 years. The continuous, un-ending, money grab from those on top taking from those below, even during times of record profits! Management already did this to all the other work groups, they have been bled dry and reached the lowest common denominator to meet the "maximum accepted level of service failures" (just look at how difficult it is to staff our night hub operations whenever there is a slight hiccup), now they are going after "efficiencies" and money from our part of the workforce pie. It's all about the profits for the shareholders. Long term value? Gone. Brand reputation above all else? Gone. Management bonuses and multimillionaires: multiplying as we speak. I suspect if the TA passes, we will have a few more tens of $millions handed out to those who helped craft this piece of work.

Good points cloud, I think we could have gotten improvements in the A fund by trading it for new hire A Fund and give them a 20% b fund with cash after cap. The money they have to put in the A fund for you and me is nothing to what they have to put in for a new hire who will be projected to retire 30 years from now. But we told them no and meant it. So we are stuck with a 260k ceiling unless we are willing to buy it up. For 15 years here I have been told to trust the R&I guys they are smarter than me, so I am trusting them, this is the best we could get for what we were willing to give, at least, retirement wise.

Only if we vote yes! Vote no and send it back. The company is only going to offer what they think we will settle for! It's time to show them we won't settle for this!!

B.S. The company is shooting for 50%+1. They had decided on the numbers long before negotiations ever started!

Exactly Max. They have seemingly played it perfectly. The interim contract. The PiBS distraction aimed at stalling and delaying... But, fortunately for us, the delay worked into a rebounding economy and loads, a cash acquisition of a major European operation, an incredibly strong cash position overall, huge fuel savings, new aircraft acquisition, through-the-roof stock value, massive upcoming pilot retirements, seriously undermanned operation, looming pilot shortage (for the majors). So why are we still are being presented with a TA that made sense 3-4 years ago, but NOT TODAY!?!?

That's a problem. It's interesting how the guys I fly with and talk to in the AOC basically say what they've heard so far is about what they expected but that they'll wait to get the whole TA before making a final decision. Then I get on here and you'd guess the AOC probably looks like the Ferguson riot zone since some of the details have leaked. Of course, I didn't see any of that outrage being directed at the several members of the MEC who were hanging out in the AOC yesterday. Almost the opposite. But I will say the MEC better have its ducks in a row as it formally presents this TA to the masses. It set the expectations bar for this contract very high with the mantra "Industry leading". Now the MEC needs to define exactly how those expectations were met, or if they weren't, why they weren't. Numbers and facts please.

All I saw there yesterday was a LOT of congratulations to the negotiations committee & associated back slapping from people jumpseating out. I heard several say that MEC wouldn't send it to us unless it was best we could get.... ugghhh. Couldn't be farther from the truth. To say the least, I'm quite disappointed.

QOL needs to improve
The last posting had 757 Capt going as low as ~89% on the seniority list. That is telling on how bad QOL is here, and how valuable seniority is.
Too much of the TA seems to make things worse, not better.
I think I did the math correctly!? Need 2nd cup of coffee!
