Angry Hotel Cancellation Bank

Anybody notice this little snippet:

8.c.2.h.vi. On-property sleep rooms are not guaranteed to pilots who cancel Company-scheduled hotel rooms (e.g., IND day rooms).

The way I read this is; the pilots transitioning INDY, on the night hub turn, can cancel their hotel room, collect $35 into their Hotel bank and take a sleep room (although not guaranteed)!

Here lies the problem - most of the crews getting hotels for the turn in INDY are the ones that arrive earlier than the crews that do not get a hotel room. If this TA passes, they will be able to cancel their hotel room and take one of the few sleep rooms available (rooms are first come first serve).

The crews that don't have a scheduled hotel room could be left without a sleep room under this TA!

Just one more "good deal" in this TA

That can't be correct?

The availability of sleep rooms was used as part of the justification for the Cargo Cutout. Surely that means that there are PLENTY of sleep rooms if you want/need one.

Maybe the problem is the guys who will "f" their buddy for $35. Everybody knows (or should know), that if you have a hotel in Indy during the turn, if you don't use it and take a sleep room, that you are probably taking a sleep room from some poor schmuck with a shorter time to rest. If you have a hotel room, go to the hotel. If you don't want to deal with the hassle, then grab a recliner.

Even without the $35 it is happening. People think it is "inconvenient" to go to the hotel and take a sleep room!

I agree and I think it's a BS move. How does this TA change that at all?

We just have to give up hotel rooms on layovers between 4-5 hours, so that the mega profitable corporation can afford to build more sleep rooms.

Why can't we just get the added sleep rooms without giving up hotel rooms??? Because the money grab from their side of the table is everywhere in this TA!

Damn, I will stop posting for a while! Just noticed I'm the last poster on the top 6 threads...

Cloud please tell me where we have to give up hotel rooms between 4 and 5 hours. Is there a stipulation to that?

Because if this T/A is ratified, a Managing Director/Senior Manager in FedEx Crew Resource Scheduling will get MBO $$$ by showing on paper all the theoritical money he's saving the company by the hotel cancellations that may happen.

Oh that part that says before the company can take 4 hour hub turn hotels they have to guarantee enough sleep rooms for anyone with a 2.5 hour hubturn?
