I'm so depressed that you retired. You were such a hard core ALPA/FPA/Union supporter when you were here. I've lost count of all the committees that you served on, the times you ran for LEC/Block positions.

Oh wait, weren't you a big/active supporter of the PPF?

I would rather make 10K/hr for a one hr day, than 1K/hr for a ten hr day. That way hard block time trips start paying off more.

But that's just how I see it. Of course, 10K/day is pretty sweet no matter how you do the numbers.

You know, I'm pretty cynical, and a little paranoid, too. But that is not one of the things I'm concerned with, and I doubt anyone else here is either.

But, it was advertised as a raise! As in, a 16% raise+/-. That's not a raise, even Tony and FDXLAG might agree to that.

Hey, that was a long time ago, and I barely remember (as I said). The point was, I didn't think we just lost one credit hour of vacation pay for nothing. Or did I remember wrong, and we did?

I seem to remember some kind of formula used that first adjusted the pay rate from 7 to 6 and then adjusted for the raise.

ex. $100/hr x 7hrs= $700
$117/hr x 6hrs= $700

Then they added the (small) pay raise on top of that. I no longer have a copy of the 1999 T/A to reference.

We also went from an average BLG (4 week) of 84 to 72.

The point, is that they used the 7hrs to 6hrs to get our "hourly pay rates" above the 75th percentile. Basically, a loss of 16-17% in my book. From where we were supposed to be, if our 7 hr rates would have remained in the 75th percentile.

And really, why would we be satisfied with the 75th percentile, in the first place?

There's a hell of a lot more to a T/A than pay rates.

Oopps, my mistake. they only serve the 15YO in Business on Emirates.
You got me there. I can't argue with that. It Sucks! But there is Apathy big time here for some reason when it comes to DeadHeading. Everyone is scared of the Boogie Man and the Bluff of Foreign Domiciles if we ask for something Humane as in Commercial Deadheading.

I wasn't a fan of the change when it happened. I recall that one of the arguments made was that most major carriers at the time 1998-99 operated on a 6hr/day rig system. Then, in 2006 we changed the rig so you get about 6.4 day on multi-day trips. Vacation took a bit of a hit there as it was no longer a 1 for 1 if your weren't doing single day trips. I guess that we never should have voted in ANY of our previous T/A's. They ALL sucked.

Well, Just let FDX ALPA do the heavy lifting on that? We'll have this T/A voted in on 20Oct and then you guys can just piggy back on our QOL...

I sincerely wish the best for both pilot groups. Especially for their own individual, unique needs.
