Maybe ... But this trip hasn't started yet. So the next line would be, "...maybe he's not checking his e-mail on his off days" ... maybe or maybe it is the subtle refusal. As one Captain said when the jumpseaters just showed at the airport, "I thought you'd get the hint when I didn't answer the e-mail".... "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice." (YES,1982)
