Default FDX - CNX Hotel Rooms During IND Hubturn

If a pilot cancels his hotel room during a IND Hub Turn is he authorized a sleep room in the IND Hub?

If not, how is this monitored & verified?

Authorized? I don't think anyone is "authorized" or "entitled" to a sleep room until The Company starts assigning sleep rooms in lieu of a hotel room. Then, every pilot with a hubturn greater than 2+30 should be guaranteed a sleep room.

So, short answer to the question posed is, "No."

Also, remember the admonition of the Professional Standards Committee before and even after the TA was announced. Don't use a sleep room if you have a hotel room because it impacts FATIGUE and therefore SAFETY of those pilots who would otherwise be able to use the limited number of sleep rooms.

Anybody cancelling a hubturn hotel room for the money and then taking a sleep room should be ashamed of himself. If he wants to cancel and then sit in the TV room, knock himself out. Don't leave any pennies lying around on the floor nearby, and especially not between two of them.

That has NEVER stopped any of them before otherwise there would have been no reason for the message!

Well, now that there is a financial incentive as well

The second question remains...

How is this monitored and verified?

Agree with Tony...

We are own worst enemy.

We/ALPA should be monitoring this. The company shouldn't have to tell us we're crapping our pants. If they do...we're all going to be wearing diapers.

Let's take care of this ourselves. If your "buddy" is cancelling his room to get a few extra pennies that he thinks he is entitled to, we need be calling them out.

I think a blanket party would fall into the category of workplace violence, so that's out.

Maybe somebody in Professional Standards will have an idea.

Thought the company warned us awhile ago not to take a sleep room in Indy if we had a hotel room booked.

Anyone cancelling their hotel room now for the bank is in for bit of a surprise, as it looks like the bank won't be implemented until phase 2 (March).

No, it was FedEx ALPA Professional Standards Committee.

It's a bit confusing with some of those items in later phases. Does that mean it won't take effect until then, or does it mean it takes effect immediately but I have to put in a pay log until it becomes automated then?

I'm anxious to see how many of our better hotels start dumping our business when we cancel a bunch of "guaranteed" rooms.
