I agree with you both. That wool coat is great for the winter walk arounds.

Yeah....Because when we went to M&H I couldn't try on the overcoat as they couldn't get any in stock. I went thru three send backs and was still not happy. Spent huge $$$$$$ for a as yet unworn overcoat because parka and leather jacket going away....hope They'll let me return it.

Wool overcoat goes well in winter in Europe.... Helps to blend in.

I had a shorter one I'd pack with me but wouldn't go with uniform.....that's what I get for following uniform guidance

Yeah, I guess that's a loss. Didn't even think of the overcoat. The parka has always worked well for me on all walk around conditions - then it also works well on the layover. Packs much easier too.

Bottom line - it could be much, much worse. As in, previous ridiculous uniform plans.

Side question:

Can we make guys take off their shirts in the AOC and check the tag to see where it was made?

I kinda hope so.

It's so tolerant ! And progressive!

Agreed. Nice job ceasing reimbursement for the highest quality, reasonably priced shirts on the market. I'll just go out of pocket- much as I hate it (mostly on principle), I'd rather their shirts than anything else. The Tropo shirt you don't even have to iron. I wash it, take it out, fold it in half in my bag, take it out and wear it. It's sat in my bag for a week and still didn't need ironing.

I bought pants at Dillard's last year. Color is an exact match and the fit, finish, and quality are leaps and bounds above anything we can get. Plus, it's a material that doesn't need ironing either and I can wash them at home. Same routine as my shirts.

It says you can still wear a cut above shirts, they just won't reimburse for them, which stinks like a 767 pneumatic non working sim contract.

Only caveats- they are cuffed (only had one person notice, and that was after I pointed out that I bought my own pants), and they match the (now "old") style/color pant. Apparently the new ones are darker. I'll keep wearing them until I get barked at...

They were ~$40/pair. Can't remember if that was on sale or not. I have two- they still look the same after probably a year.
