I "think" they tried that a few years ago? I can't give you very many details as I never used it, and seemingly, neither did anybody else.

I think they closed it for lack of use and lack of interest? I guess you could go work out at 1am instead of sleeping?

 

Yeah, I've heard about it. I would use it though.

Some of our guys will NOT fit through the window, much less be able to climb down a rope if something un-good happens~

The folks where physical fitness is a priority will find a way- the free 7 min workout(s) from Johnson & Johnson iPad app is a good one that can be done in any open AOC room (the old temp flight ops hasn't been used for other things last time I was there), going for a run right from AOC is always an option (weather permitting), and I've found on the day turns that 3.5 hours is a good time frame (comfortably) for me to arrive in AOC, get a sleep room, change, take the bus to my car, go to Module D, workout for an hour, reverse course, eat and cool down in AOC, shower, change and be ready 15 min prior for showtime.

All this being said, I am going to email my Fleet Captain, to start, and inquire about the possibility of dedicating a room for a gym in AOC (been wanting to for a while). Can't hurt, and would be awesome.

 

Looks like they figured out a way to make the extra uniform allowance $50 cost neutral too! Make us pay retail with our allowance for clothes they get at a major discount in bulk no doubt...!

The AOC gym was short lived. Maybe 2 months, it was run by the same group that runs the other FDX gyms. Pay to play, $5 per visit I think.

 

They payed someone to sit in there as an attendant. Stupid, but you can't give one pilot an access code.
