So I was awarded a single departure line that my vacation conflicted and removed in Nov. I put in for a vacation make up and was awarded a trip making up about 46 of the 50+ hour deficit in my vacation bank. Today, 3 days before the trip, I am removed from the trip because of a mistake by planning in removing it from the original line holders line. Now I'm in the hole 46 hrs next year with no recourse according to futures. So I got screwed. I should have at least been given the next choice on my make up bid request, that my seniority could hold. Unfortunately, this WONDERFUL
contract that we voted in allows them to do this. WOO-HOO.

I tried the union office left a message. 3:00 pm was after hours, hmm?
I have since researched the contract and found that CMU is not guaranteed squat unless you are within 3 hours of the trip. And then you get show pay only.

I don't think they should be able to get away with that...have a trip just disappear because they screwed up? No. They should at the bare minimum give you compensatory makeup or something like that. I would be contacting both CRS management and the union. They can't just make your trip go away at the last minute because they messed up. You could have picked up something further down your list, or when open time came out, you could have filled your schedule. Unacceptable, don't let it slide.

boxflyer should receive compensatory makeup. That is, if MUV is considered to be trip guarantee, which I would assume to be the case. It directly addresses his/her situation.
I think boxflyer is incorrect about having to be within 3 hours of the trip. Check out the section 25AA that purple1day mentioned. There is no timeframe addressed.

I'm planning to talk to the union, but from what I've read in 25. AA and section 4. P I get nothing. An FDXLAG, had we voted no maybe we would have been better off. I truly think we could have improved some things. I guess we won't know now. My vote was all about work rule improvement and filling in some of the holes so things like this don't happen. I didn't even have to argue pay or retirement to come up with my no vote. I've worked for a few different airlines and several contract votes. I've seen contract votes go both ways(although not at Fedex). But if you believe that in our current environment that a 57% pass vote is a win for us then I'd like to sell you some property and man do I have a deal for you!!
