Default Vacation Pass Charges

When listing as a vacation pass rider for an international trip in flying together, I notice a significant discrepancy in price when listing for first class vs. coach. Why would this be? Everything I've read states that vacation passes are fees-waived travel. Of course, I'll still be paying taxes, etc., but that should be the same cost regardless of cabin class, no? I thought it may have just been a failure of the system to recognize the vacation pass, but when I list without a vacation pass, the cost is different again as follows:

1st class personal travel:$360
1st class vacation pass:$100
Economy personal travel:$70
Economy vacation pass:$60

So the system seems to recognize the vacation pass, yet is still charging me more than I was expecting. What am I missing? Thanks...

I believe it is just airport tax. Some airports have very high taxes.

Lots of countries have a premium tax on FC and BC seats... Good example is The UK.

If you click on the "i" above the price it breaks down all the fun fees!

This was (I believe) LAX-LHR F vs Y...
EDIT
Different and more expensive.

I don't know the answer, but RTFQ guys. The question is why a different fee for a different boarding priority in the same cabin.

Given the same cabin, why is there a lower fee on vacation pass vs personal pass? The only difference is boarding priority, right?

Is the company imputing a different cash value for the segment based on the boarding priority alone?

What????

I recently left LHR with family of 5, 3 in Biz, 2 in comfort (Delta), and the taxes were all the same!!!

Never heard of an airport First Class tax before.

A vacation pass has no mileage fees or US taxes. It does not exempt foreign taxes. In your example of the economy personal travel being $10 more than a vacation pass, it is because there is no mileage charge in coach on a personal pass, but you will pay about $10 in us taxes that you would not pay on a vacation pass.

The difference between vacation and regular FC taxes is that the mileage fee is subject to **US** taxation. Look at the "i" symbol right above the fare when you book. It was 10% of the FC mileage fee for the trip I priced.
