FDX vision requirement question
#11
Not taking the time to look up the NTSB report, but don't think he had a SODA. He had a previously demonstrated color vision thanks to his years as a Navy Fighter pilot and current military medical when he first got his Class 1.
His demonstrated proficiency was via a testing system with a known high failure rate. One thing that surprised me was that post mishap the feds took him out for a light gun test that he passed, even with the severe color vision deficiency that he had.
If you were flying 14'sh years ago, that's why there was an extensive color vision testing via different methods 1 year.
