A nice gesture is a nice gesture but to get your picture taken with a baby and have someone write about is another thing. Seems very political and fake, thats all. Im sure the ramp guy was really excited to get his picture taken with a real life pilot. I just been kicked in the nuts to many times over the last decade...

Executive management showed up to tell us how much we are appreciated and part of the team? They needed an image coach to tell them this? Kind of like when our last Chief Pilot was told the pilot group thought he lacked integrity and he assigned 2 underlings to work on ideas to change that.

Sorry I feel like an 18 year old kid with an absentee Father that has told me my entire life Im a pain in his ass, a drain on his wallet, Im a screw up and need to stop making mistakes, and to Listen and Follow instructions without asking 'why' all the time. He also took away my tuna sandwiches for lunch and I only get enough gas money to get to school and back...and he shows up out of the blue to tell me Im not that bad and what a great holiday this was and we should do this again next year!

Don't worry the therapist says Im making progress and my guidance counselor said I had a bright future as an airline pilot.

The VP has influenced the CEO to come say Hi? Because thats what they would do at SWA...Ok if you say so.

As we all know, there are far worse management teams in this industry. Enjoy the top of the hill on the rollercoaster ride called aviation.

Sometimes a cookie is just a cookie. Eat it or don't. Either way, why not just smile and say "thank you"?

Im sure every pilot that flew Christmas Eve did smile and say thank you...nice pivot on changing the topic though.

My questions/comments were about the Corporate Communication and the PR on PFC. I guess Im in left field...back to our industry leading contract and industry leading management team. Did Kool-aid come with the cookies?

Only the last decade? I guess you don't recall then the times that these same employees were offered time off and bus rides to carry signs on Memphis sidewalks to oppose pilots. They were fed propaganda that pilots were selfish and greedy and trying to destroy Federal Express by trying to form a union and negotiate a contract. Pilots were regarded as the enemy of Federal Express, the bad guys.

And now those employees are being told pilots are good people, and worthy of a gesture of kindness.

Where is the fault in that?

Who exactly do you think "Executive Management" is? The employees involved belong to Domestic Ground Operations, an entirely different part of our company. Our organizational diagrams don't meet until they get pretty far up. They have nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with our Flight Management.

Well you're acting like an 18 year old kid, too. An ignorant 18-year-old who's missing the point that the guy who's being nice now isn't the same guy who was beating you over the head before. Open your eyes and try to see the difference.

I smiled. I said, "Thank you." I hope the impression I made on the DGO employees was a positive one, and that they'll be more sympathetic to pilots the next time The Company's propaganda machine starts cranking up the anti-pilot garbage they've generated in the past.

And I can honestly say I've never been accused of drinking The Company's Kool-Aid before. I'm not quite sure how to process that.

Whoa whoa whoa...stop the train. I get it y'all think I'm butt hurt over the cookies and the 3 non-executive employees getting their picture taken giving cookies and sharing the collective appreciation with the pilots.

If you have not read the 2 corporate communications on PFC my lack of enthusiasm was directed at EXECUTIVE Managment team visiting AOC on the Saturday day sort...but hey maybe you were all as excited to see them as much as the article says you were.

Happy New Year...
