Flexjet PBS schedules
Hello all,
Looking for some input on how the PBS schedules work at Flexjet. What does a typical month look like?...number of days off...how does the bidding process work...how often do you get what you request, etc.
Apologize if this has already been covered, but did not see it in recent threads.
Thanks in advance!

I recently met some Flex folk and they stated if you’re out of the 8 “base” domiciles, they’ll double you up on 4 days to recoup some cost of flying you to and from the jet... understandable. But they never stated the 8 domiciles. Can we list those out here?!?
Basically, if you’re out of those 8... sounds like planning on a bid for 2 8 days throughout a 28 day bid period?

That's false. I lived out of those 8 and worked plenty of 4's and 5. RARELY did I get anything over 6 days. Even MORE RARE was the 8 day run. You bid for the PBS. Base has nothing to do with it.

Whether they tell you or not, this was my experience. The PBS works for you if you can get someone to show you the ways to do it. Many folks work 12 days and thats it. Not making that one up. I'd say that 70% of the corp doesn't fully understand how to bid. There is a way to make the system give you what you want. I never missed anything or worked a holiday or day I didn't want to. You can front load and or back load a month to where the system doesn't have a choice in the matter. You can "bid" for what you want and make the system give you what you need. Don't give it any options. There's a technique is all I am saying. I had a guy that sat me down and showed me how to bid. I learned a ton. I'd highly recommend you do the same.

Agreed. PBS works well for me, and other who know how to bid.
the base thing you had a conversation may refer to the 6 day trip length limit. If based in ORD, DFW, ONT, TEB, or PBI, the system can not force you into 7 or 8 day trips. In any other base, you can be given 7 or 8 day trips even if you didn’t bid them. But again, if you bid smartly it shouldn’t be a problem, especially since you will have junior people under you fairly quickly.

What constitutes a larger base? Especially given Project Lift? I realize there are specific bases for project lift, but I don’t know how they relate to traditionally larger bases and how that affects PBS.
Also, any intel on how much longer that PL is running? Seems like pros and cons from the outside looking in. Less airline hassle, but probably a PITA if you don’t live near a PL hub.
