Default phone screen

I got an e-mail from Sandy Carroll just before Christmas and I'm scheduled for a phone screen this Friday, but I don't know what to expect. Is it just a verification/clarification of details in my application (quals, hours, etc.)? Or is it a HR-type interview with TMAATW-type questions? Anything I can do to prep besides having my logbook and documents handy?

Its been awhile but it was just a very generic HR interview, employment history, hours, issues in your background etc. Be ready to answer "Why Flexjet". The new push is to weed out people who are looking to time build in order to go to the airlines.

My phone screen in November was very casual, more of a get to know you and figure out where you want your career to go and to also tell you about Flexjet opportunities. Nothing technical, more of a friendly HR conversation. Mine was about 15-20 minutes and it was professional and welcoming. My read is that it is somewhat subjective and that if they like you in the phone screen, you will move onto the face to face interviews/presentation. But, things have changed with hiring (higher mins) so I dont know if the entire process is now different.

"Do you have 3000 hours?"

"Why do you want to work at FlexJet?"

The only challenging part would be answering why someone with over 3,000 TT would want to work at Flex.

As others have said, it was quick and painless, about 20 minutes. She asked for details about what I do at my current job, why FlexJet, do I have an unrestricted ATP, and formally asked the disqualifying questions (DUI, criminal background, any accident/incident history, and FAA fails, etc.). At the end, she said she'd be sending me an email to set up the formal interview, so obviously I passed.

She also told me that
  • more new jets were expected to arrive in 2024 (no surprise)
  • they hired about 240 pilots last year, and expected to hire another 240 this year (I guess to cover both growth and attrition), for all non-ILC airframes
  • once the announcement about the pay increase hit the street, their number of applications jumped significantly
