Default CFI Lesson Plans??

K, guys and gals (bluenose), what is the best way to get all my lesson plans typed up and together for this frickin ride that is supposed to take place around the 20th? I am sitting here like "what the heck?" Where do I start? This seems daunting and I don't want to look like a moron...

Are there templates or what I can go off of? and roughly how many lesson plans am I going to end up with? These don't seem like enough?

http://home.att.net/~jm.price/lesson_plans.htm

Help!

There is a book on the market called flight instructor lesson plans. The book has a white background, red lettering, and a commander on the front cover. I highly recommend it. BTW, you will buy the book, use it on the checkride and never pull it out again.

I am planning on taking the CFI plunge before the end of the month as well.
I have been writing lesson plans from the GLEIM "red book" Flight Instructor Flight Maneuvers. The title suggests it is only flight maneuvers, but in fact it covers every CFI PTS item. It might run you 15-20 bucks.
I make a basic lesson off of this book and then refer to the Airplane flying handbook, Pilots handbook of aeronautical knowledge and other various sources. I feel that covers all of the bases.
Hope that helps! Tell us how the checkride goes!
Good LUCK!

I would personally buy the book for the check ride, but if you want to make your own then go here for reference.

I instructed for 3 1/2 years and used a lesson plan only once. That one time was for the CFI checkride. I learned how to and made my own lesson plans, but I found this book to be the best of what is already done.

You can use these off of my website, www.centralpilotconnection.com

go to the downloads section, find CFI lesson plan templates. Their is also some nice CFII notebook stuff on the downloads page.

I used a PTS for my lesson plans. It took a little longer, but it helped me study which turned out to be a big help in the long run.

Your examiner will probably assign a couple of lesson plans in advance he will want you to teach so I would concentrate on those. I made plans for every single manuever in the PTS when I did my CFII initial and then never even opened the binder during the oral. He had me draw out how to fly a DME arc and that was it. And these other guys are right....you will never use them again after your ride. Just teach to the PTS standards and you'll be good.

I typed all mine out. Mostly ground reference and commercial manuevers. But I really don't use them much. You might look at it to refresh your memory if you haven't done the manuever in awhile. Otherwise, you won't use them.
