Default Virtual Ground School?

Hey all, asking for a friend not on this forum. He has a HK commercial pilots licence. American citizen and plan to convert it to FAA atpl to apply for American majors. Most schools require you to be present physically there for two weeks straight. Due to HK quarantine and not having enough time off, are there schools that do virtual ground school online and let you finish the last week in person to save time? I know the Miami school does virtual but not anymore. Does anyone have a clue or recommendations? Thank you

Have you looked into Pilot Institute? I've never attended there, just wondering if you knew about their course. Plus I'm really curious about it

I bought into the Sporty's PPL training. It cost me about $400 and it came with books and the video course. It's pretty decent.

I was just looking at that kit. Thank you, I'm so glad you chimed in. Even though I'm not the original poster, I'm watching this closely since I wondered the same thing. I just want to make sure I finish. I read an article about the top reasons people don't finish their PPL, and one of the biggest is the medical exam. I'm doing that first so I know if I'm wasting my time or not.

If you are considering a professional career, please get a First Class medical certificate. That way you can be sure of your employability before you start. A student pilot usually gets a Third Class medical, but there are some medical problems that would let you get a Third Class that would not be acceptable for a First Class. Also, be aware that not all FAA doctors can give you a First Class, so check first.

Default Shepherd Air

I've heard that Sheppard Air is a really good source for what you're looking for.

Cessna's collab with King Schools is pretty good imo, it prepares you for general private ground knowledge along with the knowledge test unlike a lot of other prep options. It is not one of the cheaper options but I feel it is 100% worth the price tag. I like that they have a textual description along with some videos.

Another vote for Sporty's. Engaging and updated content / videos and very good effort into making it compatible with multiple devices (iOS, Android phones, even Android and Apple TV.

Curious, as a PPL student who’s doing Sportys, do y’all experts feel it’s enough to pass the oral portion on its own?
