FWIW- I checked out an ATP guy so he could instruct in one of our club's 172s and 182s. Nice guy an all... knew his stuff well, was a great at giving a ground lesson- but couldn't fly his way out of a box if he had to. His call finally came a week or so later, do he left the club after about 20 hours of dual given for Mesa. Last time we spoke, he was having fun getting flogged by Johnny O. back in CLT.

I guess ATP is the happening place to be for those with SJS...

Shiny Jet Syndrome. I think there is a section in the Knowledge Base section. That or you can search for it.

Shiny Jet Syndrome is a derogatory term applied to foolish new pilots who accept less than desirable wages and work conditions because they are eager to fly a jet. Those who go to GoJets, Gulfstream, and Mesa are the most frequent recipients of the term, but it describes the mentality of fascination with expensive aircraft at the cost of sensible decision making. Hope this helps...

But all of you except low wages when you go to a regional airline. And Ithink everyone who is a pilot fell in love with the idea of flying a jet
