Default Am I now instrument current?

Just completed about a month ago my Multi-Engine land instrument rating. Does that make me instrument current? Previous to the rating I was not current and including the approaches in training and on the check ride I have a total of 5.

A checkride (assuming it involves ifr operations) counts like an instrument proficiecy check. Basically it starts the clock over again on your currency. Your instructor should have explained that to you.

One good thing to remember is that once you are IFR current, its good for both single engine and multi-engine airpalnes. The currency is in effect for all aircraft of the same catagory.

However, night currency is a different thing all together. Since it requires that you be current in catagory, class and type. So you have to do your 3 takeoffs and landings to a full stop in both the single and again in the multi-engine.

I find that I am constantly out of sel night to/ldg currency.
