Passed my Instrument Checkride !
#1
Yippee!
Took me 7 months for the rating, but I did it.
Had actual IMC conditions to boot! I thought it was great because the checkride examiner couldn't get too crazy with me because I had to file and talk to ATC the entire time.
Anyway, it feels great and just had to share it with ya'll.
Now it's on to Commercial!

Congrats, now back to VFR stuff for the commercial. It will be an easy checkride, or at least it should be. Just remember, you are allowed to look outside to see where you are at and exactly what you are doing, no foggles.

Good work! I was pretty happy about passing the instrument checkride because it seemed so cool thing to be able to fly in all sorts of weather. The particular plane I used was barely an ifr platform at all due to lack of instruments- a bit of a challenge to use for ifr. For example, I had to use the dme readings off the non-certified gps in combination with back-course localizer readings to establish a holding fix. And my nonprecision approach was to an NDB beacon on the airport field... about the least precision one can have and still call it an approach.
