Default ATP getting despirate for instructors

Forgive me if this is old news. Seems ATP is hard up for instructors.

Wow, I'm really surprised! Wasn't it only a month or two ago that they stopped hiring off the street instructors, and canceled their CFI course?

Default money talks

Canceling the open enrollment CFI course at AllATPs was done to eliminate the waste of the remaining CFIs on non-ACPP (Airline Career Pilot Program) customers. The pay they are offering is still very low. $1200 per month puts one squarely in the grips of poverty, especially if you have a monstrous loan payment. They will do anything to avoid upping the pay, and it appears CFI is forever regarded as a hobby. I think it should be considered a profession; but the market will dictate.

As far as not hiring off the street instructors, I am not aware they have such a policy. If they did, it would have to be part of an attempt to stimulate ACPP business by limiting outside hires. But where do you see they will not hire outside CFIs? More often, I hear that accredited schools will not hire AllATPs CFI's because they do not know enough (their words not mine), rather than the reverse.

If you are willing to work at their call center in Jacksonville for up to six weeks, then the pay goes up to $2000/month. Still not a lot though!

I thought I read it on here...maybe at the jetcareers forum, I can't remember. And I could have read it wrong. I thought they canceled both the CFI course unless you were an ACPPer, and that they wouldn't hire you unless you were an ACPPer also.
If I'm wrong on that, I apologize. I'll look around and see if I can't find a link.

On a side note, has anyone had trouble loading airlinepilotcentral? I can only get the page to load maybe once every two days...I don't understand it.

Ditto on inability to load anything from APC the last two days. It seems some people can get on and others can't. Any internet experts around reading this, who can explain?

HSLD and Freight Dog have been advised. They are looking into the problem.

You might as well flip burgers. You would make more than 1200 a month. For the amount of money they bring in, they can afford to pay quite a bit more. Especially with Pan Am offering up to 55k plus a 5k signing bonus? ATP will have to come to the game a little stronger if they want to stay in business.
