Default Is there tuition reimbursement or grant money available for flight school?

Does anyone know where I might look for available grant money or tuition reimbursement, or does a such thing exist?

I'm not positive, but I believe that it varies from school to school. The school I attend, for example, offers financial aid to eligible students. Are you looking at a FBO, flight program in college, or something else?

All the big 141 schools offer financial aid (Spartan, UND, ER,ETC...) You can also apply for grants through the usual channels just like usual. If you are going part 61 at your local FBO you can try the Fanny May foundation. I have seen them used before! The only problem with straight Financial Aid is they normaly only give you enough for about eight hours of flying a month. Most programs take about 280 hrs to get through CFII. Do the math. Personal money seems to always be required.

most part 141 schools (atp, ari ben type places) offer some kind of financial aid through they're own recommended banks, like sallie mae probably... i had/have the problem of doing all my flying in my club plane and with a freelance CFI, so I just took out a personal loan with a crazy high interest rate... i wouldn't suggest going that route if you can help it... but check out sallie mae and their training loans.

and as everyone usually says, if you can avoid taking out loans, do it. or take out the absolute lowest amount that is practical.

Are there any schools out there that accepts stafford loans to finance your whole flight training? Kind of like the same way you could pay for college?

Would embry riddle allow you to get a second degree, if you already have a 4 year degree from another institution, from them in their Aeronautical Science program with flight training included? if so, would stafford loans pay for this or would it have to be a private loan?
