I taught at af for six years. You'll have several instructors, some good some not so good. Be prepared for each lesson and don't expect to be spoon fed. You'll learn what you need to pass your check ride. They teach the practical test standards for each rating. Don't let them talk you into flights you don't need. If you're a private student and the weather is I.F.R. don't fly. Take it seriously study and move on to your next rating...

I have found the instruction at AF thus far to be some of the best I've had to date, to be honest. There are downsides like differnt instructors often and such, but so far I have been mostly impressed.
