Exclamation Don't Fall for This!

DO NOT EVER PAY FLIGHT TRAINING TUITION UP FRONT!

Flight schools which are not in great financial shape (99% of them) will use your money to pay for the training of students who enrolled before you did.

When times get tough (right now) schools spend the money deposited by new studdents to fund the training of students who are further along. When new enrollments dry up, the ponzi scheme falls apart, the school goes BK, and the new students lose all their money (but they still have to pay off the loan).

Never keep more than one thousand dollars or so on account at any flight school. If the school requires large sums on deposit, walk away.

Good advice and hopefully these folk's starting out will use it and not learn the hard way.

I think that the only probable exemption to that would be a university flight program. Paying up front via tuition is a safe bet and you gotta pay to enroll.

I will agree with that and it is probably one of the better way's to go about getting trained for those who decide not to go the military route.

That should be safe enough, if it's a real university.

Agreed, never pay for flight training up front.

The only place where paying up front would be acceptable is at an accredited university, where you're paying tuition and working toward a degree.
