Default UK CAA or SA CAA???

Can anybody tell me if the uk CAA and the south african CAA have any affiliation with each other?

Still debating about doing my training in the US and converting my license to a CAA or just doing it in the UK or even south africa. In south africa they also CAA and the training is cheap down there so wondering if you did the training in south africa and then went to europe whether it be easy to convert the license..

because if i did my training in the states when i go back and convert it id do the 14 exams for the ATPL and getting it converted costs a lot from what ive heard.

There is no affiliation as far as I know, you would still have to do the conversions when the time comes.
Have you looked into doing JAA training in the US? There are a number of schools doing this now and it may be easier then to convert Jaa to Uk CAA but I'm not sure.
Go carefully with whatever you decide, don't pre-pay anything, research your school fully.
Good luck.
