Default MS FLight Simulator with B-767 Cockpit?

Need to practice RNAV. RNP and GPS type approaches on my home-PC before I step in the real simulator.

Does any of the Microsoft or other brand simulators have a Pegasus database on the FMC that will let you set up and fly these approaches.?

Hello!

Well I will try and help you out here, but I am sure there are many others out there that will chime in as well.

If you have either Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 or X (latest version for now), I would recommend looking into the Level-D 767 from LevelD Simulations.

It is a nifty aircraft with a fully functional FMC which is sperate from the standard GPS used in the MSFS series. I however cannot vouch on how realistic it is from the real 767 FMS as I have never flown one.

The add-on has been around for a while now but the price hasn't gone down at all. Last I checked it was still around $55 for the add-on.

Here are also some links that might help.

SmartCockpit - Boeing 767

Mike Ray has a pretty cool book for the 757/767 checkride.

Amazon.com: Boeing 757/767 Simulator Checkride Procedures Manual (9780936283029): Mike Ray: Books

Hopefully this information can help you out with the sim.

Good Luck!

Purchase Flight 1 Level-D 767 simulator for Microsoft flight simulator X. From what I've heard from real pilots it's a pretty good model.

Good luck!

Thanks guys, good info.

I don't have an MS flight sim right now, is the X the latest and greatest..?

Roger on the $55.00 767 ad-on, should be well worth the money if it is somewhat realistic.

Had to take an extra sim last time because I screwed up my RNAP, RNP/GPS approaches. Try to practice in the airplane, but not good at busy airports with quick vectors, slam-dunks, etc.

(Nowadays we need to practice in the airplane what we are going to do in the sim, in the old days it was opposite.)

Where is the best place to buy the software: Ebay, amazon, sportys?
Probably need a stick as well, or some control gizzmo...?

Thanks again.

FSX is the latest from Microsoft however some can contend on greatest...

You can buy FSX at your local Best Buy, Frys, Gamestop, Target, ect. Might have luck at Gamestop.

If this is just for procedures, I wouldn't spend too much on a yoke. A simple logitech joystick should do.

If you decide to buy a yoke and throttle, the lower cost option would be the Saitek combo.

Good Luck

I've heard Xplane 10 is much better than anything MS has put out.

Yes, but the add-ons for X-Plane are not yet near the quality or realism that exists for MSFS.

If you want the most realistic airliner sim go with MSFS X and Level-D's 767 or most anything made by PMDG. PMDG makes an amazing 737NG, 747-400, Jetstream 41, and MD-11. Their newer models are far better than Level-D's 767!

Microsoft Flight Simulator X is compatible with Windows 7 both 32 and 64 bit versions. You should be good with that since you are getting the Flight 1 LevelD 767.

Great, will order the MS X type then.

Probably won't go with the 767 right away, the FMS and MCP panel on the 747-400 and the 767-300 should be pretty simular and the purpose of this is to hit the right buttons and switches in the right sequence.

Noticed on ebay there is some differences between the MS Flight simulators, one was called the Gold version, one was not.

What is the difference if any?

All the best
