Default In the regionals seniority isn't everything

If you plan on going to a regional and building seniority until you can hold a line as captain, you are going the longest possible way to a major that you can. I guess if you plan on staying at a regional for life then seniority is everyting. There are many other ways that you can get captain time without having to sit FO for 4-5 years at a regional. Small freight operators that have twin turbine airplanes are one option, also small airlines with quick upgrade times are another. Either of those ways will get you captain time faster than going straight to a regional.

Thanks to these guys bus drivers make more $ than airline pilots. Sure it will be pretty satisfying when you can't afford to have a family because your flying job won't pay enough. Thanks to guys like you these industry is going to ssssss. If you are willing to fly for free because you have rich parents or something buy your own airplane. But don't ruin it for the rest of us who fly for a living.

You know what?

Bump that...the person who started this post: Listen man - do what you have to do to get where you need to be, and don't let ANYONE stop you, whether it be military, PACE, CFI, bottle rockets tied to your boots- who gives a @!#$ ??. With that being said, there is a price to be paid for everything, whether it be emotional, spiritual, financial or physical. In the end, it will and should directly affect you and those who depend on you so feel free to shake some of these haters off your shoulders, cuz they won't be the ones feeding your family - you will.

Man up or shut up, I say...

Update... I wish I never went to PACE or Mesa. What a terrible place to work. I mean BAD. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. I have moved on, and I enjoy my new company 5x more.

Fly safe and avoid Mesa.

"There are a lot of complainers about MESA out there--- and I think that they are the 10% of the workforce that does 100% of the complaining- spoiled brats perhaps?"

Ring a bell?

Anyhow, thanks for posting. We'll refer the pro-MAPDer's to you. Seems like there was just a thread on that not long ago.

He should have gone to ATP for the RJ course then to the regional of his choice.

What a stupid mentality. The airline mill folks may be shorting the industry pay scale but scabs? I mean what a absolutely stupid statement. Oh and don't they pay for their ratings just like everyone else, just at a faster rate?
