I would venture a guess that back in WWII and maybe Korea/Vietnam you would see a few guys checking in with that few hours. A few weeks to learn to fly and then right into the Mustang for a few flights over the Pacific.

Those days have not been seen for a while, nor will they be unless their is a major need. There are plenty of folks getting pushed out of Primary and Advanced now that there was/is no need to send out a Nugget with only training command experience.

I think at minimum someone is hitting the RAG/FRS today with 170 (not uncommon to see 70 in primary and 100 in advanced) as a P-3/E-6 and probably 250 as a lawn dart driver. Add another 100-200 in the RAG/FRS and the numbers match E6B exactly.

All that to get to your squadron ready and proficient in order to sit on your but and barely stay current. Thanks sequestration.
